Basic information
PME was tasked with a comprehensive project involving design, construction, manufacture and supply of aluminum reactor connecting rods handling and storage system used in environments with the highest demands on safety and reliability.
The customer's requirement was not just about the production itself, but the entire lifecycle of the equipment — from initial design and calculations, via processing of technical documentation, up to qualification tests, quality book and commissioning.
Main challenges of the project
- Character of manipulated elements — aluminum reactor connecting rods require superior care, high accuracy and consideration of all aspects of reliability.
- Safety and stability — the crucial point was the assessment of the entire structure in terms of Statics, strength and stability. Every detail had to withstand tough simulations as well as physical tests.
- Regulatory framework — the equipment had to comply with the requirements of European legislation, in particular in the field of safety (CE certification), documentation and prescribed NDT tests.
